Garden Visitor

I went out this morning to check on the garden plot that I had planted yesterday and discovered that I had a visitor.

I had replaced the mulch that I originally cleared in order to help retain moisture, as well as to allow the soil to gather any nutrients it needed from it.  Because of this, it was quite easy to see that a visitor decided to dig not one, but two holes in my plot.

That visitor was a squirrel.

The good news?  My decision to sink plastic containers into the soil around the seeds had a greater purpose than just creating a greenhouse effect.  The halved containers also provided protection from the squirrel.

No harm was done, so I simply put the dirt back into place and placed the mulch back over it.  This is a good lesson for future plantings.
